Mayada Moussad
Moussad’s bio:
Mayada Moussad is a 21 years old, majoring in Forensic Psychology. She was raised in Washington Heights and has a passion for writing poetry. Watching her play performed by professional actors in the Gerald Lynch Theatre felt very fulfilling. To see her words come to life was inspiring. Writing her play was a way to give a perspective on rape that might not be familiar to some. She hopes it will start more important conversations on sexual violence and where it comes from. She doesn’t quite know what she wants to do after graduation but writing this play has widened her perspective of what she can do for the future.
Mayada Moussad wrote a play called My Brother's Best Friend and it was performed by professional actors this year at the 9th annual performance of Seeing Rape in the Gerald Lynch Theater. The writing-focused class for which she wrote the play was ISP 334: Sex, Gender and Justice: A Global Perspective.
