Lilibeth De Los Angeles is a junior at John Jay College majoring in forensic psychology. In 2019, her paintings were featured in an anti-gun violence event at the Brooklyn Museum. In 2021, she painted her first commissioned mural. She is currently a part of the research fellowship for violence against Latinx communities here at John Jay. With ten years of experience in teaching, training educators, and pursuing her creative side, she has acquired a strong skill set in communication, problem-solving, and leadership, which she applies to effect good change in her classroom and beyond. Her dedication to social justice and education has earned her recognition and respect from colleagues and students alike. Lilibeth continues to exercise her passion for creative writing while inspiring her young students to do the same. She firmly believes that creative writing is a powerful tool for self-expression and encourages her students to explore their imaginations and share their stories with the world.
